The Trees Want to Remain Quiet, But The Wind Won't Stop, 2017 树欲静,而风不止

2017, 8 channel video installation, 7-10 minutes, videos on loop.

In the series, The Trees Want to Remain Quiet, But the Wind Won’t Stop, the actual trees are absent; only their upside down reflections on water are visible, their ethereal images intangible, like whispers in the wind. Constantly shifting, the trees transition from vaporous abstractions melting into water to brief apparitions when they take shape, and dematerialising again as the wind erases them.
